Step1. Greeting
T: Class begins.
S1: Stand up.
T: Good morning, boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning, Miss Shen.
T: Sit down, please.
Step2. Revision
1. Teacher shows many pictures and asks students to distinguish them:
This is my grandpa/ grandma/ dad/ mum/ uncle/ aunt.
2. Read the words together.
3. Play a game: What's missing?
Teacher uses the pictures of "dad", "mum", "grandpa", "grandma", "uncle", "aunt" to play this game.
To review this lesson.
Step3. Presentation
1. Teacher shows the picture of grandpa and say: This is my grandpa.
Write‘This is my grandpa’ on the Bb.
2. Show the pictures of ‘grandma, uncle, aunt’.
Students try to say the sentences: This is my grandma/ uncle/ aunt.
3. Teacher explains the usage of ‘This is my…’.
When you want to introduce your family member to a friend, you can use this sentence.
4. Review: This is my uncle.
Show the picture of Part A
T: Who is he? (Point to the uncle).
S1: This is Mike's uncle.
T: If you are Mike, you can say:...
S1: This is my uncle.
(Invite some students to act Mike and introduce to me.)
T: Now all of us are Mike. Let's say together.
T&Ss: This is my uncle.
5.Teach: Nice to meet you.
T: This is Liu Tao, what does he say?
Listen to the tape, and learn the sentence: Nice to meet you.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of ‘nice’.
Ask some students to read the sentence. Then write it on the blackboard.
Students read the sentence ‘Nice to meet you’ group by group, one by one.
Invite some students to guess the Chinese meaning.
6. Teach the sentence ‘Nice to meet you, too’ in the same way.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of ‘too’.
7. Work in pairs.

Step4. Practice
1. Practice the reading.
a. Listen, imitate and read the dialogue. (Point to the sentences by their fingers.)
b. Let students read the dialogue by themselves.
c. Choose some students to read.
This is my uncle.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, too.
d. Let students read together.
2. Act out the dialogue.
a. Ask students to act it out in groups.
b. Invite some groups to come to the front and act out the dialogue.
Step5. Consolidation
1. Take out their own family photos and introduce family members to other students, then greet in pairs.
Use the sentence structure: This is my….
2. Make some new dialogues.
eg: T: Hello, S1.
S1: Hi, Miss Pang. This is ...
T: Nice to meet you.
S2: Nice to meet you, too.
T: How are you, S2?
S2: I’m fine/ well/ good, thank you.
Step6. Homework
1. Listen, imitate and read the dialogue several times.
2. Try to make some new dialogues with their classmates or parents.
