Unit5 On the roadTeaching Material Analysis:
The content of this unit is about “Knowing traffic tools”. So the students will learn the words "bus, car, taxi, bike" and the sentence "Is that a ...?" and its' answer "No, it isn't."
Student Analysis and teaching Approach:
The contents is closed to their daily life, so the students will interested in learning them. They have learnt the sentence "Is this a ...?" and its' answer " Yes, it is." So the teacher in the teaching process, can revise these old knowledge, and then lead new knowledge.
Teaching contents:
1. Enable the students to listen, read and say the sentences: Is that a taxi? No, it isn't.
2. Enable the students to talk about the things with the sentence structures: Is this/ that ...? Yes, it is./ No, it isn't.
3. Enable the students to listen, read and say the words:a bus, a car, a taxi, a bike
4. Enable the students to listen, say and read the letters: Ii, Jj, Kk
5. Enable the students to say a rhyme: I like my bike.

Step2. Presentation
1. Learn ‘a bus’
Teacher shows a picture of a bus and say it loudly, students just listen carefully.
Students try to follow to say the word.
Pay attention to the letter: “u”. Let them know the Chinese meaning.
Ask some students to read the word. Then write it on the blackboard.
Teacher points to the word and ask students try to read it one by one.
Look and say: This is a bus.
Put the “bus” picture on the blackboard, and ask students try to point and say:
A bus, a bus, this is a bus.
2. Learn ‘a car’
Teacher shows a picture of a car and say it loudly, students just listen carefully.
Students try to follow to say the word.
Pay attention to the letter: “ar”. Let them know the Chinese meaning.
Ask some students to read the word. Then write it on the blackboard.
Teacher points to the word and ask students try to read it one by one.
Look and say: This is a car.
Put the “car” picture on the blackboard, and ask students try to point and say:
A car, a car, this is a car.
c. Learn ‘a taxi’ and ‘a bike’ in the same way.
Step3. Practice
1. Practice the reading.
a. Listen to the tape, let students imitate and read the words. (Point to the words by their fingers.)
b. Read the words by themselves.
c. Choose some students to read.
Read: a bus, a car, a taxi, a bike.
d. Let students read together.
2. Play a game: Train, train, go, go, go.
3. Play a game: Point and say.
(1) Teacher point to the pictures, and let students say the words out.
(2) Ask some students to point to the pictures, and the other students say the words out.
(3) Teacher says the words, and let one student point to the pictures.
(4) Ask some students to play this game like this.
Step4. Consolidation
1. Magic mouth: T read loudly, Ss read lowly.
2. Play a game: One, two, three, bomb.
3. Say a chant
