这两种说法都是对的。只不过near school是常态说法（学校不指定），而near the school一般指前面或谈话者都知道的学校。

动词后面接near school
near the school通常是做前面词的修饰语的,比如The neighbours submitted a petition asking the town to put up traffic lights near the school.

我是用的书上的near school   其实自己也觉得很疑惑，现在教材上有很多和原先老教材不一样的地方。
