I. 单词:
1. birthday: a birthday card 一张生日卡, a birthday cake一个生日蛋糕, a birthday song一首生日歌，sb’s 13th birthday 某人的十三个生日
2. live: live in 居住 例句: I live in Yangzhou. 我住在扬州。
live with… 和……住在一起 例句：I live with my parents. 我和我的父母住在一起。
3. come: come的现在进行时可以表示即将发生的事情，像这类词还有go, leave（离开）
例句：I’m going to the classroom. 我马上去教室。
The bus is coming. 公共汽车就要来了。
He is leaving Yangzhou for Shanghai. 他将要离开扬州去上海。
4. have: 有多层意思 ①有，例句：I have many nice toys.我有一些漂亮的玩具。②得到，例句：May I have a copybook? 我可以要一本抄写本吗？③ 吃，例句：Mum, can I have an ice-cream now? 妈妈，我现在可以吃一个冰淇淋吗？
5. watch: 通常是指看电视或观看比赛等，如：watch TV看电视, watch the football game 观看足球比赛。see: 看见，如：I see some birds in the tree.我看见树上有鸟。read:通常是指读报/杂志等。如：read magazines/newspapers. look: 看，如：Look! There are some pandas in the zoo.看！动物园里有许多熊猫。
6. April: April Fool’s Day 愚人节
7. second 除了表示“第二”的意思，还有“秒”的意思。

8. fish: 作为“鱼”讲时是不可数名词。
例句：I would like some fish as a birthday present. 我想要些鱼作为生日礼物。

9. piece 片；张(不可数名词)

A special birthday party
Today is my mother’s birthday. When she comes back, all of us say together，“Happy birthday to you!”. And she says, “Thanks very much!” She is very happy.
All of us are looking at my mother when my little brother wants to go out. After a few minutes, he comes back with a big cake in his hand. The cake is very colorful. There are many beautiful flowers on it. We sing the Birthday Song to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Then a special birthday party begins.
We eat the cake, sing and dance. The cake is so delicious, we all feel very happy! My mother is happy, too.
My brother and I are going to study hard, because it is the best gift for our mother on her next birthday!

A.关于fish的知识
在英语口语里，fish还常常被用来指“人”，类似于汉语里的“家伙、东西”等。如a poor fish （可怜虫），a big fish （大亨），a cool fish（无耻之徒），a strange fish （奇人、怪人），a loose fish （放荡鬼）等。但必须注意的是，fish用来指人时形象虽然鲜明，但往往含有贬义。
由fish构成的习语也非常生动有趣。如：fish in the air 本意为“空中钓鱼”，喻指“方法（向）不对而达不到目的”，相当于汉语中的成语“缘术求鱼”。又如：like a fish out of water喻指“如鱼得水、感到生疏”，feel the fishes 喻指“葬身鱼腹；晕船”。
