Teaching procedure：
Step1 Free talk
1. Greetings
2. Sing a song:
PURPOSE: Warm up and adjust the atmosphere.
3. Say a rhyme: Review the words.
T and Ss say the rhyme together.
PURPOSE: Review the knowledge and prepare for the next step.
4. Read the words.
T shows fruit pictures to Ss, and let Ss say English.
Ss read the words together.
PURPOSE: Review the words again.
Step2 Presentation
1. Show the picture of beans and review the structure “What are these?”
T shows the picture of beans to Ss and asks “What are these?”
Ss answer.
PURPOSE: Lead to the new knowledge.
2. Play a game: D.Play a game.
3. Learn the song: At the market.
T plays the light disk and Let Ss listen to the song first.
T reads the words of the song for Ss, and let Ss read the words by themselves.
T shows the word cards to Ss, Let Ss read the words “carrots, beans, tomatoes, potatoes “one by one.
Ss read the words in whole class, group by group, one by one.
Let Ss listen to the song again, and let Ss try to sing the song follow the TV.
Sing the song group by group.
Boys first sing it. Then have a change, girls sing it.
PURPOSE: Learn to sing the song.
Step3 Practice
Try to use other things to ask the students: What are these? To see if they can know the plural forms of these words.
Step4 Homework
1. Read Unit 5 five times and listen to the tape.
2. Sing the song.
