Teaching procedure:
Step1 Pre-task Preparation
1.Greetings。
T greets Ss and Ss greet T.
2. Sing a rhyme:
T and Ss say a rhyme together.
PURPOSE:Warm up and let Ss come to English world.
3. Reviewing the five words and the structure “They are…
T plays the CAI to Ss, and let Ss listen and guess what animals they are. They can say “They are…”
PURPOSE:Review the words and the structure “They are…”
4. Do a chant
T does the chant first, and then let Ss clap with me, and do a chant.
PURPOSE:Let Ss remember the words and the structure more strongly.
Step2 Presentation
1. T introduces the picture to Ss.
T: Today, we will learn the dialogue. Look, Helen’s family are on the farm. And Helen is asking Mike “What are those?” Now, let's watch and listen.
T plays the disc and Ss listen to the dialogue.
PURPOSE:Lead to the new lesson, and let Ss understand the background of the dialogue.
2. Learn the new sentence: What are those?
T shows the word card to Ss and teaches the word “What are”.
Ss read the words in whole class, group by group, one by one.
Let Ss listen to the tape again, and read the sentence follow it. Ss read the sentence one by one, group by group.
PURPOSE:Learn and practice the sentences
3. Free talk with Ss about practicing the sentence and review the words and the structures that Ss have learnt.
T shows some stationery and asks “What are those?”
Ss can answer using the structure “They are…”
T can make a free talk using the words and the structure that Ss have learnt, for example:
T: What are those?
S: They are…
PURPOSE:Let Ss use the structures and words that they have learnt freely.
Step3 Practice
Play a game.
Guess the pictures: T prepares some pictures of animals and stationery for Ss, and let them just show part of the picture, one student presents it and turn around, let others can see it, and then he or she must ask “What are those?” other student guess and answer using the structure “they are…”
PURPOSE:Practice the words and the sentences and increase Ss' interest in English.
Step4 Homework
1. Read the words and dialogue five times.
2. Listen to the tape and let parents sign.
3.Prepare part C.

教学后记:
flower这个单词,好多学生读得不是很好,我是采取在他们过关时个别进行辅导来解决的,效果很不错。句型由于我在平常上课的时候已经在慢慢渗透,在理解上还是不错的,就是有的学生说的情况不是很好。我让这一部分学生回家以后自己听录音,模仿跟读。
