Teaching procedure:
Step1 Free talk
1. Greetings
2. Sing a song:
PURPOSE: Warm up and adjust the atmosphere.
3. Free talk about reviewing the words and the structures.
T shows the word cards to Ss, and let Ss read the words. Then T can let Ss listen to the sounds and guess what animals they are.
PURPOSE: Review the words and the sentences. Increase Ss' interest in English.
Step2 Presentation
1. Listen to the rhyme
T plays the disc and let Ss watch and listen. And let Ss say how many sound that they have heart. Ss can imitate the sounds of the animals.
T teaches the words “ants”. Ss can read it in whole class, group by group, one by one.
PURPOSE: Present the new knowledge.
2. Match and say: Let Ss match the animals and the sounds.
T writes the words of the animals on the Bb, and then T says out the sounds, and let Ss match the words and the sounds.
PURPOSE: Let Ss are more familiar with the words and the sounds.
3. Listen to the rhyme again and learn the words of the rhyme.
T and Ss listen to the rhyme again. And then T puts on the headwear of the cow, and read the first sentence: trees, trees, those are trees. Ss read the sentence in whole class, group by group, one by one.
4. T teaches the sentences and Ss read them in different ways.
T shows the other headwear, and teaches the other four sentences like teaching the first sentence.
PURPOSE: Learn the sentences of the rhyme one by one.
5. Ss read the sentences follow the disc, and imitate reading.
Ss listen to the sentences one by one and read the sentences one by one follow the disc.
Ss read the rhyme in whole class, boys read it and girls read it.
PURPOSE: Let Ss imitate reading after the disc, thus Ss can imitate the standard pronunciation.
Step3 Practice
1. Play a game and Ss act the rhyme.
Ss can read the sentences proficiently, T lets them come to the front and put on the headwear of the animals, and say out the sentences.
PURPOSE: Can bring Ss' enthusiasm into play and joining the activities.
2. Make and play: T explains how to make the headwear.
T teaches Ss how to make a headwear, and let Ss make one after school.
PURPOSE: Develop Ss' interest in English.
Step4 Homework
1. Listen to the tape and read Part C and D five times
2. Read Part A and B five times.
3. Make a headwear by yourself and can let your parents help you.
