Step 1 revision
1 greetings
Use the song “good afternoon” to greet each other.
T: class begins.
Ss: stand up, please.
T: good afternoon ,  …pupils…
Ss: good afternoon,  … teacher…
T: how are you?
Ss: fine, thank you, and you?
T: fine, too. Sit down, please.
Ss: thank you.
2 revision of Unit 1 and Unit 4
Use the word cards of Unit 1:
T: hello, who is this girl? Oh ,this is …
Ss: Helen.
T: (point to the yo-yo that Helen has in her hand) this is …
Ss: yo-yo.
T: Yes, this is Helen. This is a yo-yo.
Then use the other word cards , wang Bing and football.
Use this is … ,this is a …
Then the Ss and their stationary in the class.
This is … , this is a …
3 chant
Sing the chant together.
A pen, a pencil, a pencil box.
A book , a bag, a book in the bag.
4 sing the song “a pencil”
Step 2. presentation
T: Look, this is a bag. This is my bag. Do you like it ? Can you guess what is in the bag? A book? A pencil? Aha, is this a pencil? (take out an apple)
No. this is a banana.
Ask some Ss. Is this a pencil? Help to learn to answer No. this is a banana .then ask some Ss. Is this a banana? Help them to answer Yes.
Practice reading the word banana correctly.
Step 3 presentation
Draw a pear on the green board.
T: Is this a banana?
Ss: No.
T: this is a pear.
Practice reading pear by chains.
Step 4 presentation
Show the word card of mango.
T: is this a pear?
Ss:no. this is a mango.
Practice reading the word mango.
Step 5 presentation
Draw a peach on the green board.
Is this a mango?
No. this is a peach.
Practice reading the word peach.

Step 6 play a game
What’s missing?

Step 7 play a game
Let 4 students come to the front and get one word card each.
Pear, pear , jump.
Banana, banana, hop.
Mango, mango, run.
Peach , peach , turn around.

Step 8 workbook part A
Listen and tick.
Check after they’ve finished.
