Not bad. What’s this?
It’s a pencil.
What’s this?
It’s a bag.
Step 2 song
Play the flash of the song Old MacDonald had a farm.
First, listen to the song.
Then explain the lyrics of the song.
Then sing the song together. Pay attention these words:
Chicks –chick, chick
Ducks – quack, quack
Pig – oink, oink
Cow – moo, moo
Step 3 presentation
open the book and turn to page 26, Unit 6, part A.
ask who’s he ? who’s she? Where are they?
Teach the word farm:
Old MacDonald had a farm, is it the MacDonald’s farm? Perhaps.
Now Helen is on a farm. Follow me: on a farm.
Listen and repeat: on a farm.
Helen doesn’t know the names of the animals, so she ask her mother: what’s this? And her mother answers it’s a cow.
Step 4 drills
Pair work: one to be Helen, and the other to be Helen’s mother.
Ask and answer in pairs.
After practice for some minutes. Get some pairs to the front of the class to demonstrate.

After practicing for some minutes, get some pairs to demonstrate.
Step 6 Role play
Take out the headwear. Ask five students to act the five animals. And two students to be Helen /Mike and Mum.
Say: now we are in a farm. Helen ,ask your mum what the animals are. And the animal being asked makes his sound, like:
What’s this?
It’s a duck.

Seven students act. The others watch attentively.
