3. 能听懂、会说和会读日常交际用语:
My birthday is coming soon..
Would you like to come to my birthday party? Sure .
Do you usually have a birthday party? Yes, I do. (No, I don’t.)
Would you like a VCD of Japanese cartoons, too? Yes, please.
Would you like to watch “Aladdin”? Yes, I’d like to.
When can we watch it? Let’s wait and see.
4. 围绕“过生日”这一话题,激发学生学习英语的兴趣,引导学生体会、了解英语国家人们过生日的风俗习惯,培养学生跨文化交际的能力。

Step 1 Warming up
1. Greetings: Good morning, boys and girls.
How are you today?
What day is it today?
What date is it today?
Step 2 Presentation
1 T: Boys and girls, Ben is our old friend,。His birthday is coming soon.(翻译一下这句话的意思)
Today he is visiting Jim. Do you want to know what are they talking about? Now let’s listen to the tape and answer the questions.(听前言部分)
出示问题:
1> Who’s Jim?
2> Where are Jim and Ben now?
3> What are they talking about?
2 出示前言部分。跟读,理解。
3出示10月16日, 10月18日,8月6日。用What date is it?进行提问。
4 T: When’s Ben’s birthday?
When’s Jim’s birthday?(听第一部分对话)
5 自读第二段,判断:
(1) Ben would like a yo-yo as a birthday?
(2) Ben would like a VCD of Japanese cartoons, too.
