Released in October 1964, Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. was Simon & Garfunkel's debut album. This all-acoustic effort is a distillation of the musical path the duo had traveled, from the close harmonies of their Everly Brothers-inspired roots to its several selections from the Great Traditional Songbook. The album's five originals made it clear that the two youngsters shared an undeniable gift. But acclaim was still a year, and an album, away.
