Step 1.Free talk

2.Review: look at pictures and say the words

Step 2. Presentation and practice
  1.  T: How are you?
S: Not so good.
T: What’s wrong with you?
T: What’s the matter? / What’s wrong with you?
(板书:What’s wrong with you? = What’s the matter?)
Ss repeat.
S: (教师做手势引导学生回答) I’ve got …

2. Practice

  T: I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you get better soon. 讲清楚前一句日常用语是用语听到别人不好的消息时表示同情和理解的礼貌的说法,口语中经常用到。

b.Picture 2—6 学生两人小组进行模仿练习,分角色表演。
Step3. Consolidation
1、Game 选取两组同学进行竞赛,每组两人。师出示图片问:What’s wrong with you?要求生根据图片内容边做相应的动作边回答:I’ve got a……最先猜说完的就是胜利者。
2. 出示医院病人看病图片,学生回答问题:
Where are they? What’s wrong with them?学生自由回答

(If he/she says: I’m not so good)

c. Get them to call in pairs.(S—S)
d. Summarize the expressions of making a telephone call:

Step2. Presentation
1. T: Good, look at this picture, the students are having a lesson.  Who is not in the classroom?  Is Helen at class?
S1: She is not at school.  
T: No, she isn’t.  She is absent.
Teach  absent  
2. Helen is not at school, she is absent.  How is she?  Su Yang calls her after lunch. Let’s listen to the tape, what are they talking about?   T plays the record for Part A.
3. Asks and answers:
1) How is Helen?  (She’s ill at home. So she’s staying in bed.)
2) What’s wrong with her?(She’s got a headache and a bad cough.)
Revise: a headache and a bad cough  (with gesture)
