Unit 6   A picnic
AIMS:
1.        Knowledge Aims:
WORDS: an ant,a butterfly,a flower,a tree
SENTENCES: What are those?
They are ants.  
2.        Skill Aims:
1).The students can understand and speak the sentences “What are those? They are ants.”
2).The students can understand the structure “What are those? They are …”
3).The students can say the rhyme “Singing in the trees”
3.  Moral Aims:
To improve the students’ ability and interest of learning English.
LANGUAGE  FOCUS:
New words: four nouns.
New structures: What are those? They are …
Students try to understand the new words and structures.
Students try to sing the song “Singing in the trees”.
PERIOD:
1. B. Look and learn: an ant, a butterfly, a flower, a tree
2. Plural form of the four new words: ants, butterflies, flowers, trees.
A. Learn to say: What are those? They are ants.
3. C. Say a rhyme “Singing in the trees”
  D. Find and say

The first period (Part B)
Teaching aims:
1. WORDS: Can listen, understand and speak the words “an ant,a butterfly,a flower,a tree
2. STRUCTURES: Can listen and understand the sentence “What are those?”“They  are…”
3. FUNCTION:
Can introduce some animals in English.
Teaching importance:  
1. Can listen, understand and speak the words “an ant, a butterfly, a flower, a tree”
2.Can listen and speak the structure “What are those?” and can answer using “They  are ….”.
Teaching difficulties:
1.        Can listen, understand and speak the words and the structure “It's a…”
2.        Can understand the sentences: What are those? They are…
Teaching preparation:
Pictures, CAI, light disk
Teaching procedure:
Step1 Pre-task Preparation
1. Greetings
2. Sing a song “At the market”
PURPOSE:Warm up and adjust the atmosphere.
3. Free talk about reviewing the structure “This is a…” and lead into the topic.
T: What' this?
Ss: It's a …
T: What are these?
Ss: They are…
PURPOSE:Review the words and the structure and lead to the new structure
Step2 Presentation
1. Show the topic: Unit 6 A picnic
PURPOSE:Lead to the topic and learn the new words
2. Present the new word “an ant”.
  T shows the CAI, let Ss listen to the sounds and guess what animals they are.
Today, let’s have a picnic; there are many persons in the picture. Read after T: picnic
  There are many animals in the picture. Listen and guess.
PURPOSE:Present the new words and develop Ss' interest in English and arouse their attention.
3. Learn the words “ant” Etc.
Read it in whole class, group by group, one by one.
Teach the words “an ant,a butterfly,a flower,a tree” . T reads it first, and then Ss read it. Let all boys read it and all girls read it.
Let Ss pay attention to the pronunciations
PURPOSE:Pay attention to the pronunciation of the new words. Let Ss read the words correctly.
  4. Say a chant: Ant, ant, I like ants.
Step3 Practice
1. Read the words after the CAI.
Let Ss read the words after CAI, then each group read it together.
PURPOSE:Practice the new words
2. Guessing game: Let Ss guess the animals according to the pictures T shows.
T shows the pictures of animals to Ss, but I only show Ss the part of a picture, let them guess what animal that is, and then encourage them to say them in English.
PURPOSE:Increase Ss' interest in new knowledge and remember the words strongly.
3. Practice in group
Each four Ss practice in group, one student do sound production, the other Ss say words.
Step 4 Consolidation
Say a chant
A butterly, a butterly, it's a butterly
An ant, an ant, it's an ant.
T reads it first, Ss read it after T, and Ss read it by themselves. Then let all boys read it and all girls read it.
PURPOSE:Practice the words in different ways, and Ss can master the knowledge better.
Step5 Homework
1. Read the five words five times and listen to the tape.
2. Read the words and sentences of Unit 1-4.two times.

教学后记:
    通过复习What’s this? What are these? 由简入难引出What are those?单复数虽然已经在第五单元涉及到了,但是对有些学生来说,还是有点难度,特别是复数名词词尾后缀s/es的读音。butterfly的复数形式构成方法特殊,应该给学生初步的认识,即“将y改为i再加es,而不是去掉y加ies”。

谢谢分享。复数的变化形式对二年级学生来讲有些难啊。
