The second period (Part A&B)
Teaching aims:
1. WORDS: Can listen, speak and understand the words of part B.

3. FUNCTION: Can introduce facial features in English correctly.

Word cards, pictures and disc.
Teaching procedure:
Step1 Pre-task Preparation
1. Sing songs and say rhymes
  One student comes to the front and lead Ss to sing songs and say rhymes.
2. Greetings
  T greets Ss and Ss greet T.
PURPOSE:Warm up and adjust the atmosphere, let Ss come into English world.
3. Review the words
  T shows word cards to Ss, and let them read the words together.
  T: Look, what’s this?
  S: It’s a cake / pie / …..
T: I like pies.
PURPOSE:Warm up and adjust the atmosphere, let Ss come into English world.
Step2 Presentation
1. T: Now, look. What’s in the box? (Show my box)
S: Milk (Ss may answer in Chinese.)      
T: Yes, milk. (Take a box of milk out)
(Review the word: milk)
T: Now read it after me “milk”
S: Milk
(Many times)
T: High voice, low voice
S: …
2. T: (Show a rhyme: milk, milk, I like milk.) read the rhyme
S: Read the rhyme together.
T: Have some milk. (If you want to drink some milk, you should say: OK. Thanks. )
S: OK. Thanks.
T: Have some milk.
S: OK. Thanks.

3. T: What’s in my box? (Show the box)
Who would like to drink it? (Ask some Ss to drink)
S: Juice (Ss may answer in Chinese.)      
T: Yes, juice. (Take a box of juice out)
(Review the word: juice)
T: Now read it after me “juice”

T: (Show a rhyme: Milk, milk, I like milk.

6. Game: What’s missing?
Open your books read the words.
I have two good friends let’s see. Do you want to know what they are saying?

Teach the sentence.

7. Open your books, read the sentences.
PURPOSE:
1. Learn the new words and help them remember the words freely and strongly.
2. Arouse Ss' attention and interest.
3. Increase Ss' interest in learning English.
Step3 Practice
Practice with Ss:
T: Have some bread.
S: OK, thanks. I like bread.
T: Have some milk.
S: OK, thanks. I like milk.
T: (Practice many times.) Now work in pairs.
S: Practice with their partners.
Ask some pairs to show.
PURPOSE: Help Ss remember the words strongly and increase their interest in English.
Step4 Homework
1. Read the words and the sentences five times.
2. Listen to the tape.
3. Play the game with the classmates.
