一、教学目标
认知目标：
１．让学生通过本课学习，了解万圣节的有关知识。
２．能听懂、会读、会说单词Halloween， pumpkin lantern，candle，mask，vase
３．能听懂、会读、会说、会写单词need
４．能听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语：What do we need? We need …
５．能听懂、会读、会说、会写句型：Do you like…? Yes, I do./No, I don't.  Let's buy…
功能目标：
１．让学生通过本课学习，掌握表达“爱好、需要”的交际功能的方式。
２．让学生通过本课学习，培养学生跨文化交际的意识和能力。
情感目标：
１．让学生通过本课学习，进一步激发学生学习英语的兴趣。
２．培养学生团队合作的意识和与他人交往的能力。
二、教学重点：
１．让学生通过本课学习，了解万圣节的有关知识。

１．单词pumpkin lantern，candle的读音。
２．句型Do you like masks?中可数名词复数的正确使用。

Step 1. Free talk
1、Warm up:
What day is it today?
What’s the date today?
2、Know something about the students:
What’s your name?
What color do you like?
Do you like red?
What can you see in the classroom?
What’s in the classroom?
Is there/Are there…….in the classroom?
Step 2. Presentation
一、时间导入，介绍万圣节（Introduction）
1、What’s the date?  It’s Oct.31st. It’s Halloween.  
Teach “Halloween”
Read the word one by one.
2、Introduce the festival “Halloween”
   在西方国家，每年的１０月３１日，有个“Halloween”，辞典解释为“The eve of All Saints ‘Day”，中文译作：“万圣节之夜”。万圣节是西方国家的传统节日。这一夜是一年中最“闹鬼”的一夜，所以也叫“鬼节”。 （教师进行英文解说，）
3、Watch a short film about how the students celebrate Halloween
4、Halloween is coming soon. So we will have a Halloween party, too.
   What do we need? (Guess according the introduction.)
5、Learn “need” ： read and say
6、Ask and answer
   What do we need?
   We need some …..( flowers, chocolates, sweets…)
7、These are not enough. What else do we need?
8、Learn “else” ：read and say
二、学习万圣节所需的物品（Let’s see what things we need to prepare.）
1、Learn “ mask ”  ： Read and say  “ four masks”
2、Learn  “Do you like masks?  Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.”
3、Read and practice.
4、Introduce “mask” （丑陋的面具）
5、Learn candle and vase in the same way and practice the drill, too.
6、Learn “ lantern”  ：Read and say  
7、Introduce “pumpkin lantern” and“Jack-O-Lantern”  
8、Introduce how to make a pumpkin lantern
a. We should prepare some tools：a pumpkin, a candle,a spoon and some knives.                                          
b. We will make a pumpkin lantern：three steps
  Cut and dig a hole——Carve a face——put a candle in it   
Step 3. Consolidation
1、Halloween is coming, if we will have a party，what should we prepare?
   Let’s buy some ……. （图片出示要买的东西）
2、Practice：Do you like …?
Yes, I do./No, I don’t.
Let’s buy …  
3、Halloween is coming. Let’s make a dialogue
  Eg：A:  Halloween is coming.
B:  What do we need?
A:  We need a/some ......
B:  What else do we need?
A:  We need a/some......
B:  Do you like ......?
A:  Yes, I do./ No, I don’t. What do you like?
A:  Let’s buy a/some......
B: Ok./Great.
4、Say a chant “Pumpkin，pumpkin song”
Step 4. Homework
1、Prepare the things you need for the Halloween Party. (Pumpkin lantern, mask…)
2、Introduce “Halloween” to your friends
