Unit 6 Doing housework

一、教学内容
   《义务教育课程标准实验教科书•牛津小学英语》5A  第六单元第二课时 B Look, read and learn C Ask and answer & D Look and say

二、教学目标
1、 能听得懂、会说、会读和会拼写词汇sleep, jump, run, walk, sweep, wash clothes。
2、 能听得懂、会说、会读和会写句型:What is/are … doing?
    He’s/She’s/I’m/We’re/They’re…
3、 在听、做、说、唱、玩、演中培养学生的学习兴趣和运用英语进行交际的能力。
4、 通过本课的学习,学生能初步理解现在进行时的构成和用法。

三、教学重点
1、 能听得懂、会说、会读和会拼写词汇sleep, jump, run, walk, sweep, wash clothes。
2、 能听得懂、会说、会读和会写句型:What is/are … doing?
    He’s/She’s/I’m/We’re/They’re…
                                                                   四、教学难点
1、能把本课所学词汇准确的运用到句型What is/are …doing?
   He’s/She’s/I’m/We’re/They’re…中去。
2、通过本课的学习,学生能初步理解现在进行时的构成和用法。

游戏法、讲解法、朗读法和操练法等。

六、教学准备
1、教具准备:多媒体教学设施、课件等。
2、教学准备:课前发给学生一份课堂教学时用到的练习。
3、板书准备:预先写好课题Unit 6 Doing housework (B,C&D)

七、教学过程
A. Free talk and revision (5minutes)
1. T: Look! What time is it? (PPT3)
S: It’s eight fifteen.
  T: It’s time to have an English class. Are you ready?
  S: Yes.
  T: Class is beginning.
  S: Stand up.
  T: Now we are standing.(PPT4) Right?
  S: Yes.
  T: Good morning, boys and girls.
  S: Good morning, Miss Zhou.
  T: Sit down, please.
  S: Now you are sitting. But I am standing.
  T: Read after me. Teach the words: sit, stand.
  S: Read the words and the sentence.
2. T: What are we doing now? Are we having an English class.
  S: Yes.
  T: We are having an English class. What are Su Hai, Su Yang and
    Nancy doing? Look!(PPT5)
  S: Act the text of Part A. (3 students)
  T: Good job! Thank you very much. Congratulations!
  S: Clap their hands!
  T: What is Su Hai doing?
  S: She is sweeping the floor.
  T: What is Su Yang doing?
  S: She is cleaning the windows.
  T: What is Nancy doing?
  S: She is doing her homework.
B. Presentation and practice (12minutes)
1. T: Look! What’s the time now? (PPT6)
  S: It’s ten fifteen.
  T: It’s time to have a PE lesson.
  T: (PPT7)Look! What is the boy doing?
  S: He is running.
  T: Good! Can you run with me?
  S: Yes. (Act “run”.)
T: What is he/she doing?
S: He/She is running.
T: Thank you. Go back to your seat.
Boys and girls, read after me. Run, running, he is running.
  S: Read after the teacher.
  T: The same method to teach the word “jump” and “play
basketball”.
  S: Learn them by heart.
2. T: (PPT8) Look! What time is it now?
  S: It’s four forty.
  T: Yes. It’s four forty in the afternoon. School is over. They should
    do some cleaning.
  T: Where is she?
  S: She is in the classroom.
  T: Great! What is she doing?
  S: She is sweeping the floor.
  T: You’re right. Read the sentences together.
  S: Read.
  T: Boys and girls, can you ask and answer about that picture?
  S: Try to do!
  S1: Where is he?
  S2: He is in the classroom.
  S1: What is he doing?
  S2: He is cleaning the windows.
  T: Excellent! Let’s read.
  S: Read the dialogue together.
  T: (PPT9) Pay attention to this picture. Where is Liu Tao?
  S: He’s in the bedroom.
  T: (Act “sleep”) Sleep. What is he doing?  
S: He is sleeping.
  T: Follow me. (Act and say)Sleep, sleep, he is sleeping.
S: Act and read.
  T: (PPT10) Look at the picture and try to fill in the blanks.
Who wants to fill in them?
  S1: Where’s  David ?
  S2: He’s  in the library .
  S1: What is he doing?
  S2: He is reading.
  T: Let’s read the dialogue together.
  S: Drill.
  T: (PPT11) Look at the picture carefully! Make a dialogue in pairs, please.
  S: Practice in pairs. Make the dialogue.

C. Ask and answer (8 minutes)
1. T: (PPT13) Listen! What’s the time now?
  S: It’s seven o’clock.
  T: Yes. It’s seven in the evening.
  T: (PPT14) What am I doing at seven in the evening? Guess!

  T: I am washing. Teach the new word “wash”.
  S: Drill.
  T: I am washing clothes. Teach the new word “clothes”.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of “clothes”.
  S: Learn the phrase by heart.
2. T: I am washing clothes at seven in the evening. What are you doing? Can you tell me?

  T: Look at me. Act “walk”. Walk, walk, I am walking.

3. T: (PPT16) Open your books. Turn to Page 47. Ask and answer
in pairs.

D. Consolidation (14 minutes)
1. T: Let’s have a rest. Say a chant. (PPT21)
Doing, doing, what are you doing?
    Sitting, sitting, I am sitting.

    Standing, standing, we are standing.
    Doing, doing, what’s he doing?
    Running, running, he’s running.
    Doing, doing, what’s she doing?
    Jumping, jumping, she’s jumping.
  S: Say the chant together.
  T: Let’s say the chant again. Please do the actions together.
  S: Act and say.
2. T: Good job! (PPT22) Look! What time is it?
  S: It’s ten ten.
  T: Yes. It’s ten ten at night. What are they doing?
  S: They’re sleeping.

Tell the sentence pattern of present continuous tense.
  S: Listen to the teacher and try to know more.
