“go to school ” 和“ go to the school”

今天在书上看到“go to the school "
请问”go to the school 和 "go to school"有什么区别啊？怎么去理解？

go to school意思是说去上学、上课，
go to the school的意思是说去学校，没有上课的意思。

go to school 是上课，做一件事情，go to the school是去学校，去一个地方。
