Step1 Warming---up<o:p></o:p>
1. Sing a song: twinkle, twinkle, little star<o:p></o:p>
2. Say a rhyme: twinkle, twinkle, little star<o:p></o:p>

4. Have a free talk<o:p></o:p>
What day is it today ?<o:p></o:p>
What’s the date ?<o:p></o:p>
What’s the weather like today ?<o:p></o:p>
Is there a computer in the classroom ?<o:p></o:p>
Are there any teachers here ?<o:p></o:p>
How many Ss are there ?<o:p></o:p>

1.     T: Boys and girls, do you like animals?  Ss: Yes.<o:p></o:p>
T: What animals do you like?  S1: I like … .<o:p></o:p>
T: How about you, … ?  S2: I like … . T: Me, too.<o:p></o:p>
T: Do you know shapes ? ( 问一个学困生 )  S：No.<o:p></o:p>
T: OK. Let me teach you about shapes.<o:p></o:p>
 (Present the four pictures.) T: Look at the four pictures . They are made up of different shapes. Today let’s learn Unit 9 Shapes. <o:p></o:p>
Teach the word: shape  注意sh的发音和a的发音<o:p></o:p>
What shape… ?<o:p></o:p>
Teach the word: teach  注意ea的发音<o:p></o:p>

T: (Show a national flag of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">China</st1:country-region></st1:place>) This is our national flag. How many stars are there on it ?  Ss: There are five .<o:p></o:p>
T: What color are they ?  Ss: They are yellow. <o:p></o:p>
T: they are five yellow stars.  Read: five yellow stars<o:p></o:p>
T: What shape is the light ?<o:p></o:p>
Ss: It’s a star.<o:p></o:p>
Pair work<o:p></o:p>
拓展：T: “Star” has another meaning “明星”, such as: a super star, a basketball star . Yao Ming is a basketball star, he ‘s a super star. Do you like him ?<o:p></o:p>
Ss: Yes. <o:p></o:p>
T: This is Beckham. He is a            star (学生补充)<o:p>
5. T: look, is this kite a star? ( Ss: No, it isn’t.) It’s a diamond. <o:p></o:p>
Present: What shape is the kite ?  It’s a diamond.<o:p></o:p>
Teach the word: diamond, 注意ia的发音.<o:p></o:p>
T: How many diamonds are there ?  Ss: There are five.<o:p></o:p>
Teach:  diamonds , five diamonds<o:p></o:p>
拓展：“Diamond” has another meaning “ 钻石”. Today I give you a saying: Diamond cuts diamond. So you should study harder and harder, then you’ll make much more progress.<o:p></o:p>
6. (Show a piece of diamond paper, Fold the diamond paper) T: now, What shape is the paper?  It’s a rectangle. <o:p></o:p>
teach the word: rectangle<o:p></o:p>
T: What shape is the box ?  Ss: It’s a rectangle.<o:p></o:p>
Boys--- Girls , Girls--- Boys<o:p></o:p>
7. ( Fold and cut the rectangle paper: square ) T: Is it a rectangle?  <o:p></o:p>
Ss: No, it isn’t. T: It’s a square. teach the word: square注意are的发音)<o:p></o:p>
 a square clock , a square        (学生补充) .<o:p></o:p>
T: What shape is the clock ?  Ss: It’s a square.<o:p></o:p>
Pair work.<o:p></o:p>
拓展：“Square” has another meaning “广场”. Such as: <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Tian’anmen Square</st1:address></st1:Street>, <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Xinghai Square</st1:address></st1:Street><o:p></o:p>
8. ( Fold the square paper in half and cut: triangle )  T: How many triangles are there?  Ss: There are two. Teach the word: triangle<o:p></o:p>
T: what shape is the ruler ?  Ss: It’s a triangle.<o:p></o:p>
T: what shapes are the rulers ?  Ss: They’re triangles. <o:p></o:p>

3. Look and say (事先准备的用图形装饰的事物)<o:p></o:p>

No, it isn’t. It’s a rectangle.<o:p></o:p>
