Teaching contents: B Look, read and learn; C Ask and answer; D Work in pairs
Teaching aims:
1. Enable the students to listen, read, say and write the words: half, past, a quarter, on duty, a face, wash, brush
2. Enable the students to understand, read and say the sentence patterns: What time is it? It’s time for ….  I want to…. Do you want to …?

Step 1. Free talk

Step2、 Presentation and Practice
1 Teach: on duty

T: Yes, it’s … 3 Show the time card 7:05
T: What time is it ?
S: It’s five past seven.
Teach: What time is it?   Past
Show the time card:3:10 、4:02、6:15. Students do some pair work.
4 (6:15) It’s a quarter past six.
Teach: a quarter
Show the time card:8:15  3:15  5:18  4:30. Students practice with their deskmates.
5 (4:30) It’s half past four.
Show the time card:1:30  8:30  5:35. Students practice.
6 (5:35)It’s twenty-five to six.
Explain the rules to the students.
Show the time card: 9:49  11:50  12: 58
7 (10:45) It’s a quarter to eleven.
Show the time card:12:45  6:45  8:45

小组比赛,看哪组说的又快又准
(出示时间并让学生说出该时间该干什么了)
