I have been in Australia for four weeks. I live in home-stay, study in QUT and enjoy the wonderful environment.
There are many things which impress me very much. Australians are very friendly and are very glad to help each other . As a foreigner, I always lost my way. At that time , I always ask the Australian how I can get there. They will try their best to help me and even Sometimes guide me how to get there. Once, I missed the bus. A kind old lady sent me to the bus station firstly, and found there was no proper bus. Accordingly she sent me to the train station and waited for me to get on the train. I was moved to tears.
Australians understand the meaning of life and know how to relax themselves. All the shops are closed at about 5 o’clock., but the shops are closed later because of the pay-day. The open time of the shops is very short and the buses and trains are limited at the weekends, because all the Australians including shop assistants need to rest normally and enjoy life. Australians love pets and love the activities outside. So the weekends are the best time for them to relax themselves.
Australian food is very simple. They usually have a simple breakfast and lunch. The dinner is plentiful opposite to lunch. But it’s also very simple comparing with Chinese food. There is a speciality named BBQ which I like best. Because of the simplicity, the food is the biggest challenge for me . Luckily, I find there are many restaurants which sell the food of different countries . So I usually have a big lunch with my classmates. Sometimes I eat Japanese food and sometimes I eat Korean food. There is rice in home-stay, so sometimes I cook some Chinese food and eat them with my home-stay parents. When I eat the Chinese food, I miss my families very much.
I will go back to China several days later. I believe I will set a high value on the following days and enjoy the life in Australia. |
