Step 1 revision
1 free talk
Say what you can do.
Make a movement, then say I can…
2 flash cards
Show the word cards, first one card, show it for two seconds,
Let them say it out.
Then two cards,show them one by one for two seconds, let the students watch, and say it out.
“who has a good memory? Test!”
And then three cards, follow the same steps.
Step 2 presentation
Show the picture of the book, unit 8, page 34.
Look at the picture. Who’s she?
She’s Helen.
Who’s he?
He’s Mike.
Helen is asking Mike:
What can you do ?
Mike is answering:
I can jump.
Then play the flash of part a, first, listen .then listen and repeat.
Step 3 pair work
Divide the class into groups of two. get two students to act. One be Helen, and one be Mike.
Work in pairs. Then get two or three pairs to demonstrate before class.
Step 4 drills and application
Role play: divide the class into groups of two. One ask: what can you do? The other make a movement and say: I can run./ jump/sing/ dance.
After they’ve practiced for some minutes, act out their own dialogues one by one.

Part B listen and judge
Watch the pictures, then listen carefully, judge smiling face or crying face.
Check after they have finished.
