一、教学内容
B Look read and learn & E Read the passage
二、教学目标
1  能听懂、会说、会读和会拼写单词catch.
2  能听懂、会说、会读单词和词组insect, ant, bee, butterfly, dragonfly,
   firefly, grasshopper, bottle, primary school, carry, special, glow.
三、教学重点
能正确熟练地掌握B部分出现的单词。
四、教学难点
本课的昆虫类单词拼读。
五、教学准备
1  教具准备:
  a  单词图片
  b  本课E部分的录音
  c   学生准备自己所喜爱的昆虫的玩具或图片
2  板书准备:预先写好课题 Unit 8   At the weekends  
六、教学过程
Step1.  Free talk and revision
1  Listen to a song  : We know
T: Now, let’s listen to a song----We know  
      S: (Listen and try to sing after the tape)  
2  Free talk
   T: Do you have any hobbies?
   S: Yes, I do. I like taking photos.
   T: How about you?
   S: I like….
   T: What animals do you like?
   S: I like ….
Step2. Presentation and practice
1  T: Animals are very lovely, they’re our friends. Insects are our friends, too.
Do you know insects?(多媒体课件呈现昆虫世界。)
T: Look! They are insects.
教授单词insects,让学生听录音进行静听、模仿、跟读、拼读。
T: I like catching insects. (做捉昆虫的动作)Do you like catching insects?
   S: Yes, I do.
  T:catch insects 捉昆虫
     Today is a fine day .Let’s go to the garden,OK?
  S: OK!
多媒体课件呈现花园的背景
T: Look, how beautiful! What can you see in the garden?
S: I can see ….
教师用鼠标点击蝴蝶的图标,屏幕上随即出现单词
butterfly  学习单词并跟读
用同样的方法呈现单词bee,dragonfly.
Say a rhyme :bee ,bee, I like bees….
  T: boys and girls ,it’s so tired.let’s have a rest,OK?
  S: OK!
  T: Let’s play a game magic eyes. I have many pictures about insects.
3 出示单词ant的图片,让学生看图,教师可引导学生谈论图片,如:
Look at my pictures. it’s very small and lovely.What’s that?
教授单词an ant,让学生静听、模仿、跟读、拼读。
Do you like ants? Yes ,I do. No,I don’t
4   同样方法学习其余几个单词
5   竞赛活动  What's missing?---出示所学昆虫的图片,利用PPT,老师故意每次消失一张图片,让学生来看少了那张,并能快速说出单词。
6  (以小组为单位进行反馈)
T: What’s this?  
S: It’s a bee / firefly / butterfly /…

Step3. Read the passage
1  T: Insects are our friends, what insects do you like?
    S: I like ….
2  T: Now, look at this boy.(出示 P65图) He likes insects very much. What insects does he like? (自学)
3  T: Now , try to answer the questions.
(1) Where does he study ?
(2) How does the boy spend his weekend?
(3) What’s in the park?
(4) What does the boy like to catch?
T:Listen again.
  Do some exercise
1.小学   2。在周末   3。许多昆虫  4。其它有趣的昆虫  5。搬重的东西
6.看他们跳舞  7。特别的萤火虫  8。 在晚上发光  9。抓他们 10。把他们放在瓶子里
Step4.  Consolidation
1  读词组,读课文
2  教师就一种昆虫给出描述,再问:What is it?
It likes flowers. It can dance in the flowers. What is it ?(a butterfly)
It has long legs. It jumps very high. It’s green.  What is it ?
(a grasshopper)
It likes flying at night It also glows at night .It’s very special.  What is it ? (a firefly)
It’s black .It’s very small. But it can carry big things. What is it ? (an ant)
It’s long .It can fly high. It has two big eyes. It looks like a plane. What is it ? (a dragonfly)
It’s very busy .It can fly, too. It likes flowers, too. It can make honey for us. What is it ? (a bee)
Step5.  Homework   
1  Copy the words
2  Surf the Internet: collect some pictures about your favourite insects
