A Teaching Plan of Unit 10 Thank you

The first period:  part A and part B (food)
Teaching Aims :
1、Master the sentences, “…,please ?/some…?/…? Yes ,please /Yes ,thank you .”
2、Master the new words “a cake ,an egg ,a hamburger ,an ice –cream”.
3、Master “Thank you” and know the situations of using “Thank you” .

Teaching Contents :
1、 The words about food in part B.
2、  Yes ,please /Thank you .

Teaching tools:
1、computer
2、tape recorder
3、pictures and food

Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up
1.  Greetings .
2.  Free talk.
3. a. Let’s count numbers from 1 to 10. (The students count the numbers.)
  b. Good. Today, we’ll learn Unit 10. “Thank you”.
c. Ss learn to say: Thank you.

Step 2 Presentation.
1.Create a situation: It’s 9:00, let’s go to the supermarket.    Ss: Good, but how?   
T: By bus.    Ss: OK, Let’s go.
  Project a picture of a supermarket on the screen.
T:Wow, So many things. I’d like an apple,××, an apple ?Yes or no?
S: Yes.
T: You can say “Yes, please.” Say after me. “Yes, please.”
S: Yes, please.
T: Good.
Then point to an orange and say “An orange?” Ask another student to answer.
2. Pair work
3. Ask three pairs to act.
4. A student asks the teacher “An apple?”
T: Yes, thank you. (Repeat)
Then pair work and act. (At first the teacher makes a model.)
5.  Learn to say : an egg .
a. T: An egg?(Show the picture of an egg.)
  S: Yes, please./ thank you.
b. Read after the T.
c. Ss read the word: an egg.
d. S: An egg? ↗,T:Yes, thank you /please.
e. Drill .The teacher makes a model. Then work in pair.
f. Show two eggs. Teach “eggs——two eggs”
6.  Learn to say “a cake, a hamburger, an ice–cream”.
a. Read after the T.
b. Ss shout out the words.
  a cake——some cakes
  a hamburger——three hamburgers
  an ice-cream——five ice-creams
c. Ss check each other.
Step 3 Drill
1.        Play a game : Whisper耳语。(传话)。
2.        What do you like best?
chant : cake ↗,cake ↘,I like cakes.
       egg↗, egg↘, I like eggs.
       hamburger↗, hamburger↘, I like hamburgers.
       ice-cream↗, ice-cream↘, I like ice-creams.
Step 4 Consolidations
1. Read after the tape.
2. Action. (Put some food on the desk and create a “supermarket”)
The students act the shop assistant and act the dialogue.
Step 5 END
1. Listen to the tape “Green tea.”
2.Sing the song “Goodbye.”

Homework:
1.        Read after the tape.
2.        Copy the new words four times.
