第一课时  Welcome to the unit
I.        语言知识
词汇要求:

  1.导入:Do you have friends? Do you have good friends? What does your good friend look like?
          What is he like? What qualities do you think a good friend will have? Is he ( she ) helpful / honest / …? Can he ( she ) keep your secret / share your joy / make you happy / …?
  2. 讨论:Work in groups and discuss: How to describe a man? ( 家庭成员;身份、职业;外貌;爱好;特点、评价;
What qualities do you think your friend should have?
Let one member of each group speak in front of the class.
  3. 操练:share something with somebody
           ---- If you share something with others, you use it and so do the others.
           I don’t have my own bedroom. My sister and I live in one bedroom. That means I share a bedroom with my sister.
          What can we share with our friends? We can share food / drink / money / desk / house / troubles / joy / news / secrets …with our friends.
          She shares my troubles as well as my joys. 她与我同甘共苦。

1. Task 1 Presentation: The bell for class is ringing. Are you ready to have our English lesson? Yes, you’re all in your seats. You are sitting in your seats.  Oh, there’s an empty seat over there. Whose seat is it? It’s XX’s seat. He isn’t here. Where is he? Who is willing to go and find him? ( Who want to go …? ) ( XX in another seat: I’m here. ) Oh, you’re there. Go back to your own seat. Don’t change the seat.
   Do you know the word humour? If we say a man has a good sense of humour, that he is interesting, he can say something funny which makes people happy. When he is with us, we never feel bored. We have read some stories full of humour.
( You can tell the students a story about Mark Twain. Mark Twain was a famous writer. He liked to tell funny stories to make people laugh. He also liked to play jokes on his friends. ----Look at Page 44 & 45 Book 2 JEFC.  So we say Mark Twain had a good sense of humour. )
Who in our class has a good sense of humour?

  Task2. 步骤:

She is willing to share things with her friends. She is also very helpful and is ready to help people any time. She helps me with my homework and she always gives seats to people in need on the bus. Betty wants to be a singer and travel round the world when she grows up.
第二和第三篇也按这样留空给学生填写。

第五课时   Grammar ( 1 )

1. A 和B 的导入,都要尽量利用教室里的人与物。尽量采用谈话式,并变换人称,使人人都开口。要求学生用完全句回答。如:

    T: Is our classroom bright?                S: Yes, our classroom is bright.

1.         Presentation: Do you like sport? What kind of sport do you like? Many young people like football and like to watch football matches. So we say football is a popular sport. If someone or something is popular, a lot people like them.
Is Coca-Cola a popular drink in China?     Yes, I agree. ( No, I don’t agree. )
    Is Lu Sun a very popular writer in China?
Is Liu Huan a very popular singer in China?
Do you agree that Zhang Ziyi is a popular film player? Oh, some agree, some don’t agree. That’s not a problem for us. We don’t care she is or not. If something makes us worried because it is difficult to do or make better, we say it is a problem. For example, electricity was a problem in Nanjing last summer. It was a great social problem. What social problems do we have in the moment? ( house problem, population problem, pollution problem, energy problem … ) Oh, we have so many problems to solve.

1. Presentation: I have a problem. Here’s a box. It’s heavy. I can’t move it. ( move --- change from one place to another) Who can help me solve the problem? X X, Would you like to help me move the box there? OK, thank you. Do you know why the box is so heavy? Let’s open it and see. There are a lot of books and magazines in it. These magazines are useful and interesting. I am a reader of them. Do you sometimes read magazines? What magazines do you like to read? I want to read a magazine about writing competition. I need some advice. Can you give me some advice? ( If someone gives you advice, he tells you what to do or how to do. )
2. Get the students to ask questions to the text using the words what, who, where, when, why… Then underline the key words.
3. Do the same with the articles on page 4.

II. 教学建议:
1. 可以先设计一个storyline: The “Teenagers” magazine is holing a writing competition. Daniel is going to join the writing competition. He is going to write about his best friend. Can you give him some good advice? What do you think he should write in his article? How many parts should his article have?  ( 让学生分组讨论每部分应当写点什么,不要看书。)
2. Now open your books and read Daniel’s article. How many paragraph are there in this article? Can you give a heading for each paragraph? Then the teacher can ask the students some questions to the article.
3. Get the students to make a list of words that they can use to describe their best friends.

2. 改写句子:
     1) Climbing is as exciting as diving.

  Diving is more difficult than any other activity.
3. 归纳级的用法:
very, quite, so, too, as… as 等与原级连用
much, a little +比较级连+ than …
最高级后用 of + 复数名词或代词、数词
           in + 单数表范围的名词
