<知识链接>形容词的比较级
形容词的比较级的构成主要有下面几种：
① 一般的直接在词尾加er ，如 tall - taller , short - shorter ,
② 以e结尾的，直接加r ，如 fine - finer ,nice-nicer
③ 以辅音字母加y结尾的，先改y为i再加er，如early-earlier
④ 以一个元音字母和一个辅音字母结尾，双写最后的字母再加er，
如big--bigger, thin--thinner ,hot–-hotter， sad--sadder，fat—fatter
⑤有三个或三个以上的音节和有些有两个音节的，直接在形容词前加more， 如beautiful--more beautiful
⑥不规则形容词比较级：
　　  good—better  bad-worse  
形容词比较级的句式结构：
A +be +形容词比较级+than +B.
My grandmother is old, but your grandmother is older.我奶奶老，但你奶奶更老。
    Ex.  1. 填空 My grandmother is ______ (young) than yours.
2.  翻译句子 Your dog is small, but mine is smaller.___________________
3. 用smaller改写句子。Your family is bigger than mine. ______________________
三、 How many people are there in your family? 你家有多少人？
     针对该句的回答，一般用there be句型来回答。

  There is +单数名词/不可数名词   There is a dog in my family.
  There are + 复数名词   There are only five people in my family.
  There was +单数名词/不可数名词  There was no light in that room last week.
  There were +复数名词   There were a lot of flowers in your gar den before.
  There be 句型的否定形式是直接在be动词之后加not；一般疑问句将be动词提到句首。要注意变成否定句或疑问句后，要将some改成any。
注： be动词的单复数和其后面最近的一个名词的单复数直接相关。

   There are only five people in my family.

七、一般过去时：某个动作发生在过去的时间里，并且这个动作已经完成了。
   He said， “It’s my house. ”    say—said
  Mr. Wang knew everything, but now he knows nothing.    know—knew

They lived in the same flat last year.           live—lived
I was fat at that time.                      am/is—was
一般过去时的一些时间状语
    yesterday, the day before yesterday, yesterday evening, last night, last+时间(last week , last month, last year)
just now=a moment ago  “一段时间+ago”表示“……前”比如“三天前”就是“three days ago”
    this morning   I ate an egg this morning.
   in +过去时间词(in 1998)  What did you do in 2005?
Ex. They ____ each other at that time.
