Ask and answer by using Is there a ...in the...? Are there any...in the...?
2、play a game. Ss ask and answer by using the sentence pattern one by one. Such as Is there a TV in our classroom? Yes, there is.
Are there any flowers in our classroom? No, there aren’t.

Step 2 Presentation and practice
1. T: There are some chairs in our classroom. You can say so many things in our classroom. There are …. But how many chairs are there in our classroom? There are fifty. Write the sentence pattern on BB"how many... are there in the...? There are..."
2. Make dialogue according to the pictures in part D.
3.Show the picture of F. First tell Ss this is a picture of street. Teach the word street and the phrase in the street.Ss should make dialogues according to the pictures.
Invite pairs to read out the dialogue.
C Consolidation
1. Ask Ss to make sentence according to their surroundings by using How many … are there in the...?
2.Play a game
Stick some pictures on BB about things and places, Ss should choose pictures to make a dialogue such as:
S1: Are there any apples on the plate?
S2: Yes, there are.

S2: There are four.
Encourage Ss to connect the pictures freely.
