1. Begin the class ( start a match).
T: I’ve got two bunch of firecrackers. Let’s have a match. See who can get more firecrackers.
2. Review
T: There’re lots of holidays in a year. What are they? ( 课件出示)
Let’s enjoy the holidays.
Ss say a chant.
Sing and dance, laugh and play, eat nice food at New Year’s Day.
Go to the hill, go to the bay, go to the park at May Day.
“Let’s play games.” We happily say. We have a good time at Children’s Day.
Dear mum, China. It’s your birthday. Happy birthday to you. It’s National Day.
3. Teach the new lesson.
1) T: New Year’s Day is the first holiday in a year. Do you know, what holiday
comes after New Year?
( Watch a cartoon )
T: What holiday is it?
Ss: Spring Festival. ( 出示卡片,跟读)
T: When’s Spring Festival?
Ss: It’s usually in January or February.
2) T: People do many things at Spring Festival. Do you know,
(出示) What do people usually do at the Spring Festival?
Ss 自由回答。
Teach two phrases
a. visit relatives and friends
跟读 relative, grandparents, get red packets
小对话: Did you visit your grandparents last Spring Festival?
Yes, I did. I got a lot of red packets.
(同桌对话,回忆去年有没有给亲友拜年拿压岁钱)
b. have a big dinner, eat a lot of delicious food
跟读 delicious, 问 : What’s delicious?
学生自由说: delicious chicken
T: Did you eat delicious chicken last Spring Festival?
S: Yes, I did. No, I didn’t.

Yes, I did. I ate a lot of delicious food.
3) Learn more about Spring Festival
T: I did a lot of things last Spring Festival. Do you know,

4. Practice

5. Teach the dialogue.
1) T: David and Su Hai had a good time last year. Do you know, what did they do last New Year and Spring Festival. Let’s listen and find.

2) Do some exercises
Choose the right answer

3) Open the books and read the dialogue together.
6. Consolidation.
T: You’ve known my last Spring Festival. Now, let’s do a survey. Ask your partner about his or her last Spring Festival and finish the chant. Using the question “ Did you…? ”
Set an example.
Ss: Miss Wang, did you visit relatives last Spring Festival?
T: Yes, I did. Ss tick.
Ss: Did you have a lot of delicious food?
T: No, I didn’t. Ss draw cross.
Ss finish the chart in three minutes.
7. Assign the homework.
1. Ask another friend about his or her last Spring Festival.
2. Write a passage about your own Spring Festival.
3. Preview the new words in Part B. Say something about your favourtie holiday.
