Oriental Cherry



  Oriental cherry has a long history in Japan. Japanese has grown it for more than about 1000 years. From 794, oriental cherry becomes to play an important role in Japan. The first Oriental Cherry Admiring Party was hold in the 9th century. But at that time, it was just popular in nobles, the common people had no right to do such a thing. It did not reach any parts of the country until 17th century.
  In Japan, spring is also called Time of Oriental Cherry. Every March, Japanese flowering cherries are in full bloom from the southern part of the country to the northern part. Because of this, the government holds an Oriental Cherry Festival every year. The festival lasts from the 15th of March to the 15th of April. When the flowers come out, people would like to sit under the cherries with their friends and relatives and have a chat there. Every Japanese consider it as the most wonderful time in a year.
  Oriental cherry is bright when it comes out. But its life is short. It takes only about seven days from its coming into bloom to its withered. This is its character and cherry’s charm is here.
  Oriental cherry is considered as the national flower of Japan. People love it not only because its beauty but also because its bravely withered after its short splendor. This pure and elegant disposition is just the national spirit in Japan.

樱花


  樱花在日本历史悠久，日本人民种植樱花已经优1000多年的历史了。从794年起，樱花就在日本扮演起了重要的角色。公元9世纪，日本举办了第一届赏樱大会，但在那时，这种活动旨在权贵中进行，普通百姓是没有权力参加的。直到16世纪，这项活动才遍及全国。
  日本人又把春天称为“樱花的季节”，每年三月，日本樱花便从南部一路开到北部。也因为如此，日本政府便每年都举办“樱花节”。节日从3月15日持续到4月15日。在樱花盛开时，人们携亲带友，在樱花树下席地畅谈。这也成了日本人年中最开心的事。
  樱花绽放灿烂，但花期很短。从开放到凋谢大约只有七日。这也就是樱花的特点，而它的魅力也正在于此。
  樱花在日本被尊为国花。日本人爱樱花，不仅是欣赏它的娇艳，更是赞赏他短暂绚烂后即凋零的勇气，硬化纯净而优雅的性格，也正是日本人民族精神的所在。
