While-task procedure Our students just went on an outing yesterday, they had a picnic in groups, flew kites, watched insects and played on the grass.So teacher draws the things they are familiar on the blackboard. Teacher draws a picture of a picnic on the blackboard first. Present the title: A picnic Pay attention to the pronunciation, so teacher presents it like this, big-pig-picnic. Students read the title after the teacher. Teacher draws a big tree and asks students. T: What’s this? S: It’s a tree. Teach the new word: a tree. To help students read the new word correctly, teacher should arouse students attention to the pronunciation [tri:]. Students read after the teacher. They read one by one and in pairs. Teacher praises the students who read loudly and correctly. Teacher draws a small tree far away and asks students. T: What’s that? S: It’s a tree. Teacher draws some big trees beside and asks students. T: What are these? S: They are trees. Read the word: trees. Teacher asks some students come to the blackboard to draw some oranges on the trees. T: What are these/those? S: They are oranges. Teacher draws a flower and asks students. T: What’s this? S: It’s a flower. Teach the new word: a flower. Teacher asks some students to come to blackboard to draw some flowers and asks students question. T: What are these? S: They are flowers. Read the word: flowers. Teacher draws a butterfly beside the flower. T: What’s this? S: It’s a butterfly. Teach the new word: a butterfly. Teacher asks some students to draw more butterflies on the blackboard. T: What are these? S: They are butterflies. Teach the new word: butterflies. Teacher shows the change from butterfly to butterflies. Teacher draws an ant beside two boys playing on the grass.
