二、初步感知并会说日常交际用语:
What makes…dirtry/messy?  …make(s)…dirty/messy. What can we do to…? We can….
三、能听懂、会说、会读词汇:smoke, air, rubbish, messy, dead, plant, more, throw, skin, slip, fall, move… away from, pick …up 。
四、让学生增强环保意识,更加珍惜和热爱城市环境。
重点难点        一、在正确理解故事的基础上,有感情地朗读、表演故事内容。
二、掌握单词factory, rubbish, smoke的发音。

活动1. 自主先学
1. Sing a song“Two little blackbirds”.
2. Teacher shows a question about the birds.
T: Do you like birds?
What birds do you know?
Can you see any birds near your home?
Can you see any birds in our city?
Where can you see any birds?
活动2. 小组讨论
1. Watch the cartoon and answer some questions.
T: Miss Li is showing her students some pictures of their city.
What can you see in the picture?
S1:I can see a river. There are some fish in it.
T: Yes. There are some fish in it, but the fish are dead.There are some dead fish in the river. Is the river clean or dirty?
Ss: It’s dirty.
T: Right. The river is dirty. It’s not clean. What else can you see?
S2:I can see some cars.
T: Yes. There’s some smoke from the cars. Can you see that?
S2: Yes.
Ss: Smoke.
T: Where else can you see some smoke? Where is the smoke from?
Ss: Factory.
T: The smoke comes from the factories.
What can you see in the street?
S3: I can see some newspapers
S4: I can see a lunch box, a water bottle and a can.
T:Great! Those things are rubbish. They’re useless and people throw them away. Where do we usually put rubbish? These are bins.
Ss: Bins.
T: Right. We usually put rubbish in the bins. What do you think of the city? Is it clean or dirty?
sSs: It’s dirty.
T: What’s dirty in the city?
What makes the air/ water/streets dirty?
The smoke makes the air dirty. The rubbish makes the streets and the river dirty.
2. Look at the picture and practice vocabulary and new sentences.
(1) T: Is this place clean?
S: Yes./ No.(Learn: clean, dirty, smoke, factory, rubbish, messy,dead)
(2) T: What makes it dirty / messy?
Ss:…
3. Paragraph 1: show picture 1 and learn.
(1) Listen to the story and answer(students book page 60): s
T: Is the city clean?
What makes the air dirty?
What makes the streets messy/dirty?
Is the river dirty?
(2) Read it together.
(pay attention to the pronunciation of the words: metro, factory, dirty, museum)
4. Paragraph 2: read and learn.
(1) Read paragraph 2 and talk to the partener:
How do you come to school?
How do your parents go to work?
Where do you put rubbish when you can’t find a bin around?
Are there any factories near your home? Do you like them? Why?
Are there many trees near your home?
Do you think there are too many cars in the city?
(2) Listen and repeat.
(3) Let some students try to act.
5. Read and finish the exercise.
(1) Read and do the exercise.(Page 60 Think and write)
(2) Check.
(3) Read the whole story together and complete the form.
