Step3 Practice
1、 Open the books to Part B and read after the tape.
( I think reading is so important that make the students read after the tape, help the studnets to form a good habbit of the tune.)
2、 Say a rhyme <<I’m ill>>
a. Listen to the tape
b. Read after the tape
c. Try to imitate and say it, use other words to instead of high fever
( Use the rhyme to practice the words, and prepare for the next step.)
Step 4 Consolidation
1. T: Ok, Now let’s call the Nancy’s mother who can help the Nancy make a telephone call? (Write the title “ a telephone call” on the blackboard.) choose someone to make it.
S1: Is that Nancy’s mother?
T: Yes, speaking.
S1: Nancy’s ill at school, can you come and get her home?
T: Ok, may I speek to Nancy ?
S1:Hold on, please.
Nancy: Mum, I’ve got a …
T: How do you feel now?
Nancy: I feel cold.
T: Ok, I can get a/some… for you.
( Write the sentence ont the blackboard, and ask the students to read after the teacher.)
2. Practice
Show the pictures on the screen, and make dialogue use the structures in pairs, then choose some pairs to act
3. Prize the bestone.
(This part is the consolidation of the key structure, and also is an extensive activity for the Ss. During this part ,the Ss can think and say by themselves, they will be glad to use the knowledge they have learnt, and their creative power will be well trained.)
Step 5 Home work
1. copy the new words and new structures in this unit.
2. listen to the tape and prepare for part A.
(Purpose of my designing: I think homework is so important that the Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned. )
