Part 3. Teaching steps / procedures
Step 1 Warm up and free talk Say a rhyme with strong stress, and do the action, review the words have learned. T: What lessons do you have? (Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by doing some total physical response and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step. )
1. T: Now, boys and girls. Today, we will have a PE lesson. Let’s go out. 2. T: Look, What’s this in English? T: Yes, this is my hand. This is my left hand, and this is my right hand. S: This is my left hand, and this is my right hand. Read left, right, my left hand, my right hand. T: Now, look at me: Turn left. Turn right. Say the structures with the action. S: Turn left. Turn right. Practice in pairs. 3. T: Good! Look, this is my left hand. Touch my head with my left hand three times. Touch my shoulder with my right hand two times. Say the structures with the action. Guess the meaning. (Write on the blackboard) S: Do the action after the teacher. Say the sentences and do the action. Read after the teacher. 4. Teach the other new words about the body in the same way: Touch your neck with your fingers one time. Touch your toes with your hands three times. Touch your knees with your left hand four times. S: neck, shoulder, arm, finger, knee, toe, leg, foot. Read the new words and do the action. (The students learn new words from doing total physical response, arouse the Ss’ interesting of learning English.) 1. Work in groups. Divide the students into ten groups, and one student gives the orders, and the other students do the actions. 2. Show the pictures. Let the students do the action according to the pictures, and speak out the orders. (Practice the dialogues in groups, set a real surrounding and encourage the Ss to communicate with the others. They can say loudly and freely .They will feel happy and successful during this part. By way of communication, the Ss will understanding the meaning of the structure better and master the knowledge firmly.) 1. Open the books, listen to the tape and read after the tape. 3. Play a game: Guess the orders. (Read the words after the tape is so important that the students can read the words correctly. At the same time, it will improve their listening abilities.) Step 5 Homework assigning: 1. Copy the new words four times. 2. Listen to the tape and review the text. (Purpose of my designing: I think homework is so important that the Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It is necessary for the Ss to do some extensive exercises after class to consolidate the knowledge they learned. ) Part 4. Blackboard design
