Unit 6 On a farmPart 1 Analysis of the Teaching Material
It is a unit from Oxford Primary School English 1A.This lesson mainly talk about the animals .The content is close to us , so it can raise Ss’ interest in learning English . Let me say sth about my teaching aims.

To help Ss understand , read and act out the animals .

To enable Ss to ask and answer in pairs by using the sentence “What’s this ? It’s a …”, act out the dialogue.

1 To help Ss know how to ask or answer about the animals.

To help the Ss apply the dialogue in everyday communication .

Part 2 Teaching Methods
1.
Total physical response approach
This lesson is mainly about animals .So if the Ss can imitate the animals’ activities to show their great performance their enthusiasm of learning English will be greatly promoted . I’ll let them learn through the real actions and situations which can help them understand and master the languages easily .
2.
Sing and chant
In this lesson , I’ll prepare several rhymes to help Ss to acquire the key words .This can very effectively stir up Ss’ interest in English and help Ss apply what they’ve learnt into real life .
Part 3 Studying ways

To help Ss to be interested in learning English and to be active in the class teaching and learning .
2.
To teach the Ss to be good and successful learners and to focus their attention on the teaching and learning .
Part 4 Teaching procedure
Step 1 Warm-up
1.Greetings:
T: Good morning /afternoon , boys and girls .
After the greetings , I’ll let the Ss play a guessing game by using the sentence “ Is this a …?
Yes , it is ./ No , it isn’t . It’s a …”
Purpose: It is important to form a good English surrounding for the Ss to begin a lesson .We can also review the words and dialogues before to make a preperation for the new lesson .
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1. After the game I’ll use the computer to show the picture of the part A .I say : Look , this is a farm .Then I’ll teach Ss the new word : farm . Next I’ll say : Miss Li and her students are on a farm to show the topic of this unit .
2. Then I show a picture of a cow “ Look , what’s this ?” In order to let the Ss know how to read it , I play the record . Next I show the nose of the pig to teach the word pig .Ss can imitate the animals’ action when they practice in pairs . At last I’ll play a short film about which is a duck swimming in the lake .Thus I teach the word duck .

Learn a chant : Cow ,cow moo , moo moo .
Pig ,pig oink , oink oink .
Duck ,duck
ga ga 叫 .
Purpose : By imitating animals , the activities of the animals , we can let Ss firmly acquire the new knowledge .
Step 3 Production
Purpose : Through the practice , Ss is expected to use what they’ve learnt fluently .Their listening and speaking ability will be further improved .
