1. Have you decided what to do with these books, Hobo?

① decided  v决定 decide to do决定做某事=make up one’s mind to do

decision  n 决定 make a decision（to do）做决定（去做某事）

Let’s first decide where we should go. 我们先来决定一下应该去哪。

If he decides to do a thing, he will do it well.如果他决定做一件事，他会做得很好。

=If he makes a decision to do a thing, he will do it well.

② do with处理，处置，对待（常与疑问词what连用）

=deal with（常与疑问词how连用）

例如： What will you do with those books?你将如何处理这些书？

      =How will you deal with those books?

2. ① French  adj法国的，法国人的  Do you like French bread?你喜欢法式面包吗？

n 法语（不可数）  My uncle can speak a little French.我叔叔会说点法语。

②Frenchman  n 法国人，法国男人（可数），复数形式Frenchmen，Frenchwomen

③France  n 法国 Mr Brown has never been to France.布朗先生从没去过法国。

3.touch

1)v.触摸 touch sb/sth触摸某人/某物 Don’t touch me.不要碰我。

   使…感动=move, sth touches sb某物打动某人  His book touches readers.他的书打动读者。

2)n接触，联系 keep/stay in touch with…与…保持联系

3)adj.touched 感动的（人）=moved, I felt touched because of his story.因为他的故事我感到很感动。

     touching令人感动的（物）=moving,  a touching story一个动人的故事

4.against

1)倚着，靠着  He is standing against the wall.他正倚着墙站。

2)反对 be against doing sth反对做某事

       Why are you against walking there?你为什么反对步行去哪儿？

3)碰，撞 crash against the rocks撞到礁石

4)违反 do sth against the law做违法的事

5.tired

be tired out筋疲力尽I was tired out when we got back from the long climb.

be tired of(doing) sth 厌烦… I’m tired of studying.我厌烦学习。Kitty is tired of eggs.

be tired from 因为…劳累 He was tired from studying.他学习累了。

6.look的短语

look after照顾  look for寻找  look up查阅；抬头  look down向下看  look down on sb轻视某人

look into调查  look around环顾四周  look through浏览  look forward to期待

get的短语

get up起床  get on/off上车/下车  get into陷入麻烦  get along/on with与……相处

get rid of摆脱  get away离开

fall短语

fall over摔倒 He fell over when he was skating.

fall down摔倒，落下My mother fell down from her bike just now.

fall off从……上摔下The boy fell off the tree yesterday.

fall behind落后If you don’t work hard, you will fall behind your classmates.

7. 1) the same size as…和……一样尺寸，与……一样大小        My mother’s shoes are the same size as mine.

2) the same as和……一样 My uniform is the same as Simon’s.

3)the same…as…和……一样 My coat is the same colour as yours.

8 ① keep （on）doing sth.不断地做某事，反复做某事

The boy kept crying.    Prices keep on increasing.

②keep sb. from doing sth.阻止某人做某事（from不可省略）=stop/prevent sb (from)doing

We should keep the farmers from cutting down many trees.

③保存，保留 How long can I keep the book?

④饲养，养活 My grandfather likes keeping pets.

⑤keep保持  keep+adj:  keep quiet/healthy

   keep sth+adj/介词/doing等 When you do eye exercises, you should keep your eyes closed.

The boss keeps his workers working for twelve hours a day.
