Step 1: Leading in.
Hello, boys and girls. Are you good at Maths?
How many seasons are there in a year?
What are they?
Review the words: spring, summer, autumn, winter.
Step 2: Presentation.
1. T: What's the weather like today?
S1: Try to answer.
T: So what’s the weather like in spring?
Show the sentence and teach.
(Ask and say: Does it often rain in spring? Spring is very beautiful.)
Show a calendar to teach: next week, I'm going to...
2. Teach: What's the weather like in summer?
T: Most of the time it's very hot. Sometimes it's rainy.
Teach: most, most of the time
3. Teach: What about autumn?
Show a picture to teach: countryside
(Ask: What can we do in the countryside?)
Sounds good. -> Sounds great.
4. Teach: What about winter?
Show pictures to teach: snowman, make snowmen
5. T: Next week, Su Yang's Dad is going to New York.
Show a picture to teach: New York.
Listen and choose: What does Su Yang want to know? Why?
Show the first passage, read after the tape.
Ss read after the teacher and read by themselves.
6. Listen and write. Listen to the tape and write down the weather in New York.
Check the answer one by one. (Ask some students to answer.)
Step 3: Practice.
1. Listen and follow the tape. (Page 38 and page 39)
2. Read after the teacher.
3. Ss practice in pairs (boy = Ben, girl = Su Yang).
4. Ask some pairs to read the dialogue.
5. Read the whole text again.
Step 4: Consolidation.
1. Do the exercises on page 39.
2. Check the answer.
3. Read the vocabularies and the sentences together.
VI. Homework.
1. Copy the vocabularies and the sentences.
2. Listen and read the dialogues.
3. Practice the dialogues with the partners. |
