教学内容

Planning for the weekend          第一课时



教学目标


Learn the new words and the new phrases: have a picnic, go on an outing, see a play, see a Beijing opera show, give a puppet show, give a concert, take part in the singing contest, take part in the sports meeting


Control the correct using of the new structures: What are you going to do today?  We’re going to do …


Check their ability of talking about the plans.


教学重、难点


Correct pronunciation of the phrases and can use the structures to discuss the plans


教学准备


tools: picture, tape    methods: listen, write, act, practice


教学环节



Step 1 Free talk
Release their feeling
Talk about the weather: What’s the weather like? Is it hot? (Review the daily talk of Unit 5)
Ss answer the questions.
It’s sunny/hot.
Yes/No







Step 2 Presentation
Learn the new phrases
Show the pictures and ask them to recognize in Chinese, then learn the correct saying of English.
Ss control the correct pronunciation of the special words and then the all phrases.
take part in
the singing/dancing contest
the sports meeting
Need more revisions.

教学环节







Step 3 Listening
Check the correct pronunciation of these phrases
Teacher play the tape, and correct at the necessary part, let them use correctly.
Ss repeat follow the tape, and also control the Chinese meaning.









Step 4 Practice
Learn the new structure and can use well
Show the different pictures one by one, and ask the new question: “What are you going to today?”


Answer some by teacher self, “I’m going to have a picnic.” then ask Ss to try.
Ss listen carefully, and then try to answer according to teacher’s example.


Then practice with their partners using all the learned phrases. Make two new dialogues according to the learned examples













Step 5 Home work

















Consolidate their controlling
Copy the new phrases.

Difficulties for the pronunciation of “concert” and “contest”.



They can use this structure well.
