The first period
I. Teaching aims: In this period, the Ss are supposed to master the knowledge from P.32~34, including: welcome to the unit/listening/speaking/reading

V. Procedures:
Step 1 Free talk:
1. T: Good morning, class. How are you, today?
Ss: We’re fine, thank you.
T: Who’s on duty today?
S1: I am.
T: Please give us a report, OK?
S1: Sure.
Step 2 Welcome to the unit
1. Revise the dialogue in Unit 6, and get the students to work in pairs.
A: Where’s …?
B: It’s on/under/in/behind…
A: Where’s …?
B: They’re on/under/in/behind…
2. Hide a student’s English book in the teacher’s desk. Ask that student
T: Where is your English book?
S: I can’t find it.
T: Let me help you. What colour is it?
S: It’s red.
T: Is this your book?
S: Yes, it’s mine.
T: Here it is.
3. Use other school things to ask the students: “What colour is/are…?”
4. Use a picture of the clothes’ line to learn the words of the clothes and talk about the colours. Get them to work in pairs.
A: What is this in English?
B: It’s a coat.
A: What colour is it?
B: It’s red.
Practise with: T-shirt, blouse, sweater, shoes, trousers, jeans, and socks
5. Listen to the tape and answer the questions:
1) What colour is/are the shirt/ shoes?
2) What colour are the trousers/shoes?
Read after the tape and practise in pairs
Step 2 Listening
1. Get a student to the front, then introduce him like, “ Look at this boy. He is tall and strong. His T-shirt is white. His jeans are blue. His shoes are green.”
2. T: What is he in ? Ss: He’s in a white T-shirt, blue jeans and green shoes.
3. Ask the students to read the phrases on P32.
4. Listen and write the answers on P33. T: The girl is crying. Because she can’t find her parents. Where are they? What colour are their clothes? Listen and write down the colours.
Step 3 Reading
1. Pretend to look for a tennis racket;
T: Where is my racket? Ss: Is it in the teacher’s desk/ on the floor/ under the window?
T: Oh, yes. Here it is!
2. Get the students to read the dialogue on P34, and ask them to finish the work in their books. Then check their answers.
3. Ask the students to read after the tape, and read in roles. Then practise in threes and act it out.
Step4 Writing
1. Ask the Ss to finish the exercises on the additional sheet, and check the answers
Step5 Homework
1. Finish the exercises: Part B of Reading, “Colour the photo.”
2. Pre-read “speaking” of Unit 7 and finish the Grammar work on P91
3. Ask them to bring their own photos
