三、语法--形容词比较级
1.形容词比较级的形式
a)在单音节词尾加-er 例如：tall---taller, young ---younger, long---longer, short---shorter, strong---stronger,
b)单音节词如果以e结尾的加-r. 例如：brave---braver
c)以y结尾的词，如果y前是辅音字母，要先变y为i，再加er.例如：heavy---heavier
d)重读闭音节单词，双写最后一个字母，再加er。如：big---bigger, fat---fatter ,thin---thinner.
d)在形容词前面加-more.这适用于大部分重音在第一音节的双音节词和两个音节以上的词。例如：careful---more careful,  interesting---more interesting , beautiful---more beautiful.

2.形容词比较级的用法
a)  as…as 结构 . 两个人或物，就某一方面比较其是否相似，可用as…as 结构。这一比较结构的基本模式是：as +形容词原级+as .例如：
Mary is as tall as Alice.  玛丽和爱丽斯个子一般高。
This story is as interesting as that one. 这个故事和那个故事一样有趣。
这种比较结构的否定形式是：not as +形容词原级+as 例如：
Mary is not as tall as Alice. 玛丽和爱丽斯个子不是一样高。
This story is not as interesting as that one . 这个故事和那个故事不一样有趣。
b)  more …than 结构。要表示两个人或物在某一方面不一样，可用这个结构。这个比较结构的基本模式是：形容词比较级+than -分句。例如:
Mary is taller than Alice .玛丽比爱丽斯个子高。
He is stronger than Mike .他比迈克强壮。
这种比较结构的否定形式是not more …than  例如：
Mary isn’t taller than Alice .玛丽不比爱丽斯个子高。
He isn’t stronger than Mike . 他不比迈克强壮。
