Sing a song
Old MacDonald has a farm.         Play the tape recorder.
T: I am going to play the recorder. let’s sing the song “Old MacDonald has a farm” together.
T: Today we will go on with Module 4 Unit 1〝On the farm〞.There are many animals on Old MacDonald’s farm. What are they?        
Review the names of farm animals.

White-task Procedure       
1.Have pupils look at the pictures in read and tick.P36
T: Look at the screen and tell me what can you see? (ppt)
Then show the pictures of the animals on the screen.
Ask pupils to answer some questions.

2. Introduce some more animals.
T: Do you know any other animals?
T: Let’s see some pictures and tell me do you know the animals.
Show the pupils more pictures of the animals.
And ask the pupils some questions like “What’s the color of the frog?” “What is the monkey doing?”

Pupils do pair work to answer the questions.
4. Play a guessing game.       
T: Next we are going to talk about the food.
  First please tell me what food do you like?
  And now let’s think what food do the animals like?
Give an example: Sheep like grass.        Inspire pupils to say some sentences:
Cats like fish.
Dogs like bones.
Rabbits like carrots.
Pupils work in groups. Then they talk about other animals and their foods.

T: I want to introduce a new friend to you. He’s teddy. Today  is his birthday. What should you say to him?
Teddy is having a birthday party. But when horse is coming , little bear doesn’t know what do horses like. Can you help him?

Ducks like corn.
Hens like corn.
T: What do pigs like? Hay or corn?        Show the media to have pupils learn some words. Pupils read and spell the new words.
Explain the new words.

You can tick the boxes to show what each animals eats.        Pupils tick the boxes to show what each animals eats.

T: Turn to page36, look at the〝Ask and answer〞and do the excise in pair.        Have pupils refer to the information in read and tick and answer the questions in ask and answer.
