Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm-up
1. Sing a song:Do you have any hobbies?.
2. Free talk
What subject do you like?
Do you have any hobbies?
Who has the same hobby with you?

3. Revision
Ask and answer with the pictures.
e. g. T: Does Su Hai dance beautifully?
Ss: Yes, she does.
Step2. Presentation
1. T:I surf the Internet on Sundays. I write e-mails to my friends. Here, I’ve got an e-mail from my friend’s daughter.
Hi, my name is Mary. I’m ten years old. I’m a Chinese girl. But I live in a town near London with my parents. I have six subjects at school. They’re English, Maths, Science, Art, Music and PE. My hobbies are playing the piano and draw pictures. On Sundays, I usually go to the park and draw beautiful pictures there. How about
you? I hope you’ll be my pen friend.
T asks some questions:
Where does she live? Does she live in London city?
town, London (teach these new words)
What subjects does she have at school?
What’s her hobby?
What does she usually do on Sundays?
Would you like to be her pen friend? You may write to her if you’d like. Her e-mail address is …
2.        T: Wang Bing has an English friend,too. Let’s listen to the tape and find: “Where is he from?” and “How old he is?”.
3.        Looking at the picture, Ss listen to the Page30, and answer the questions.
4.        Listen again and answer the questions: What is Wang Bing doing?
5.        Elicit the new words: surf, e-mail, busy,
6.        Open the book, and read after the tape.
7.        Ss work in pairs to read.
Step3. Presentation
1.        Ask and answer, practice: What subject do you study at school?
                        What do you do usually do on Sunday?
2.        Let’s listen and find out “What subjects does Wang Bing’s English friend have?”.
3.        Look at the picture, listen to the tape and then answer the questions.
4.        Listen again looking at the pictures
5.        Read after the tape.
6.        Explain some difficulties: usually, play well, swim well and help the Ss to make some new sentences.
Step4. Consolidation
1.  Read some sentences:    What subjects does he study at school?
                      He studies English, Maths, Science and Art.
                      What does he usually do on Sundays?
                      He usually plays football.
                      Does he play well?
                      Yes, he does. He swims well, too.
Some words: a small town, usually, surf, an e-mail
2.  Listen and judge:
(   ) Wang Bing’s English friend lives in London.  
(   ) Wang Bing’s English friend has five subjects at school.
(   ) Wang Bing’s English friend usually plays football on Sundays.
(   ) Wang Bing’s English friend plays football and swims well.
3. Repeat after the tape
4. Read in pairs.

1.      Listen to the tape at least three times, try to read the passage the fluently.
2.      copy the new phrases.
