5B Unit2 A telephone call
Ⅰ.Analysis of the teaching content
The topic is to talk about the illness and how to have a telephone call. The key structures are “How do you feel now? I feel … What’s wrong with you? I’ve got … ”. The sentence pattern relates to the adjective and the noun. The teacher should make good use of the learned knowledge.

(一)Warming-up exercise
1.Listen to a rhyme “I`m ill”

3.Students act out the dialogues they prepared .
(二)Presentation and practice
1.Review parts of a body in Unit2 4B.
(hair,eye,ear,nose,mouth.)Introduce back, stomach, leg, arm. etc.
a. Game 1  Touch your head
b. Game 2  Show me your eyes
c.Game 3  Hand to head (Work in pairs)  Both students put one’s hand to the other’s head.
2.Review the sentence patterns and words in Unit 9 4A
“What’s the matter?” and its answers , “I’m tired.” etc.
Introduce the new sentence pattern, “What’s wrong with you?”
3.Introduce the new words in the unit connected with parts of a body first.
e.g. a toothache, an earache, a headache, a stomach ache, a backache.
(1).Match the picture cards while teaching.
(2.)Help the students make a conclusion of the suffix of the words “ache”. Stress the word, “a headache”.
4.There is no suffix about the words “a fever , a cold, a cough.” ,Use body languages when teaching illness words.
5.Practise the sentence patterns “ what’s wrong with you?” and its answers “I’ve got…”
( using  expressions and gestures.)
6. read after the tape about Part B
(三)consolidation
1.Through various kinds of practice, let the student say the words of Part B correctly,
2.Using body languages to make dialogues with the sentence patterns
“What’ wrong with you? I’ve got…” (T---S, T---Ss, S---T, S---Ss)
3.Work in pairs, then act out the dialogues.
4. Work in pairs. (SB.P.18.D)
a. Students look at the wall pictures carefully.
b. Talk about the pictures or dub the pictures.
c. Act out the dialogues.  
d. Make a performance.
5. Ask two students to come to the front and take one of the picture cards from the teacher. One pretends to be ill, the other asks questions, using body languages.
(四)Homework
1. Learn four skilled words by heart.
2. Listen to the recordings and read the unit after class.
3. Use body languages to practice the sentence patterns.
4. Copy the words.
