Unit9 Where’s the plane
Hello, everyone .Today I’ll talk about Unit 9 fromOxford Primary English Book 2B: Where’s the plane?. I’ll finish this Unit in three lessons. Today I’ll talk about the first period of the Unit . I’ll teach part A and part B.
Before I talk about my teaching contents, I’ll talk about the students. The students in Grade 2 is very lovely. They like singing songs, saying rhymes, playing games and so on. We should design an interesting class for the students and make the students are interested in it.
First I’ll talk about my teaching contents:
1. The new words of this lesson: on, in.
2. The new sentence of this lesson: Where’s the…? It’s….
Second I’ll talk about my teaching aims:
1. To help the students understand the meaning of the new words.
2. To help the students learn the new sentences.
3. To improve the students ability of listening and speaking.
Third I’ll talk about the important and difficult points:
1. To enable the Ss master the new words and the new sentences.
2. To enable the Ss study in groups and co-operate with the others.
3. To arouse the Ss’ interest in English.
Fourth I’ll talk about the teaching methods:
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. I will arrange four kinds of activities: singing, guessing game, finishing a survey and having a competition. And in this lesson picture, school things and a computer will be needed. Students should prepare some stationeries.
Then, I’ll talk about my teaching procedures:
Step1 Warm up
1. Sing some songs and some rhymes.
2. Free talk
For example, teacher can ask : What do you like? What can you see in the classroom?
This step is to form. a better situation for the students by singing and speaking. They will come into the real surrounding of English learning, And it can also review the learnt knowledge for the next step.
Step2 Presentation
1. I’ll put some toys on the teacher’s desk and ask students: What can you see? Ss: I can see a car. T: Where’s the car? Ss: It’s on the desk.
Teach the new word: on
I’ll use the same way teach the new word: in
2. After teach two new words, I’ll play a game. Teacher say and students do. I give orders. For example: put your book on your pencil box, put your ruler in your book and soon.
This step is not to present the new words one by one, just with the help of the pictures, it can provide a real situation to understand the meaning of the words and to arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. A competition can encourage them to try by themselves and improve their ability of learning.
Then I’ll use PPT show a picture: there are many things in the picture. Ask Ss: What can you see? Then ask Where’ the things?
Teach the new sentence: Where’s the…? And the answer: It’s on/in the….
I’ll use PPT show some different pictures and ask students work in pairs.
4. I’ll provide a real situation: Ask students go shopping with me. Let’s go to a shop.PPT show a shop picture. Work in groups where are they? Then ask students act out.
This part is very important of the lesson. he Ss’ abilities of speaking and communication will be well trained. Use the CAI to set a real surrounding and encourage the Ss to communicate with the others. They can say loudly and freely .They will feel happy and successful during this part.By way of communication ,the Ss will understanding the meaning of the structure better and master the knowledge firmly. Watch a cartoon and read after it.
Step3 Homework
1. Listen to the tape.
2. Ask students read the text and the new words.
This part is also very important.Ss should speak English as much as they can in class or after class. It can help students improve their English. |
