5A Unit 8 A camping trip (Period 1)
Step1. Greetings. (Before class)
1. ***Enjoy the song: Let’s go camping
2. T: Hello, children. I’m your English teacher now. Woule you like to learn English with me? Firstly, I wanna know something about you. Now would you like to know something about me? You can ask me any questions.
Ss: What’s your name? What do you like?...
Step 2. Presentation.
1.(2min) T: I like singing, dancing, especially eating. I like chocolates. See! Here’s a box of chocolates. The made of the chocolates is “DOVE”. What does it mean? It means ‘Do you love me?” Dove is born because of a very beautiful but also a very sad love story between a princess and a cook. You can read it after class.
              To teach: a box of chocolates
T: I have a box of chocolates.
2.         (3min)T: I have a box of chocolates, a name card and some stickers from Canada. How about you?
To teach: Let’s show our things to each other.

3. (5min) T: What does he/she have? Try to recall.

(work in pairs)
4.(2min) T: Look! Here comes two of my friends! Both of them are the Chinese teachers at our school.  (PPT)
What do they have?
  Ss: They have a tent.
     To teach: tent (spell the word according to “ten” and write it beside the picture)
5. (3min)T: They have a tent and they’re having a camping trip. Look! I have a tent, too. I’m going on a camping trip, too. (板书,学生根据读音拼写:A camping trip)Look! People are having camping. These places are all camping sites.(根据音标读出site)This camping site is in the park, by the lake, in the forest and this one is near the hill. (根据音标读出并拼出单词, 通过黑板上的简笔画区分hill和mountain)
    To teach: They’re at the camping site near the hill. (read the sentence)
6.(3min) T: We have good places for camping. And what can we do at the camping site?

  (show a short passage, read and act it out.)
7. T: We have a tent. And we have some tins here. Look! Here’s a tin of…What else do we need? (Read and match, then read together)

     We want to cook food and we need a________ and a _________.
   A game: Change the seats.
2 lines of students: blanket telescope, tent, tin-opener, pot, stove

Step 3. Text learning.(10min)
1.        There is a story about camping. Let’s move to it! (Listen to the background and answer)
Where are the children and their teachers?
What are they doing?
2.        Listen and tick. What do they have?
3.        Listen and repeat.
4.        Retell the story according to the table.
     5. (5min)T: Next We have to plan what I need for camping. Please help me to make a list. (黑板上简笔画画清单,并随机列举)We have a tent, a backpack, an alpenstock, some food and drink and… (show one by one)
  Work in pairs:
A: We’re going on a camping trip.
B: Great!

Step 4. Passage reading. (5min)
     To read a passage about camping in America and Canada and judge the setences with “T” or “F”.
Step 5. The ending.
Let’s go camping. That’s great fun!
