The first period:
Teaching aims:

Step1 Warming up
Exchange greetings.
Sing a song(Number song)
Step2 Free talk
1. What do you like to eat?
2. What do you like to drink?
3. How much is your pencil/ruler/rubber…?
4. Do you know KFC or Mcdonald’s?
Step3Presentation
1. Show them two bags of sweets, one big one and the other small one. Learn the word“large”,tell them the meaning of it.
2. Show them some packets of biscuits,sweets,learn the word“packet”and the phrase“a packet of”.
3. Show them some crisps, and tell them the meaning of them.
4. Read after the tape about Part1 on page27.
5. Choose some Ss to stand up and read Part1.
6. Show them some drinks and tell them those words are uncountable nouns. We often use“a bottle of”“a glass of” “a carton of”to modify them.
7. Listen to the tape about Part2.
Ask: a. Where is Kitty and Eddie?
b. What do they buy?
c. How much is the ice-cream?
d. How much is a small packet of sweets?
8.Read the dialogue in roles.
Step4 Practice
1. Divide the whole class into three parts: Kitty, Eddie and shop assistant.Let them practice the dialogue in roles,then choose some groups to act it .
2. Show them some picture cards in part1,let them practice the quantifiers and nouns.
3. Listen to the tape again and correct pronunciations.
Step5 Production
1. Show them some other pictures and price labels, let them make new dialogues with their partners.
2. Ss act their new dialogues.

2. Draw a picture just like Part1 to express a supermarket, with some price labels.
3. Read the text.

2. The sounds of “cr,br”and the sentence“She likes ice-cream and brown bread.”

2. Let the students read each word one by one on the blackboard.
