The first period (Part B)
Teaching aims:

3. FUNCTION:
Can introduce some vegetables in English.
Teaching importance:  
1.Can listen, understand and speak the words “carrot,bean,tomato potato h”
2.Can listen and speak the structure “What are these?” and can answer using “They  are ….”.
Teaching difficulties:

Word cards, light disk, CAI and pictures
Teaching procedure:
Step1 Pre-task Preparation
1. Greetings
Good morning, class.
Good morning, Miss Fan.
2. Sing a song “Good morning to you”
PURPOSE:Warm up and adjust the atmosphere, let Ss come into English world.
3. Ss listen to the sound and guess “What's this?”
PURPOSE:Review the words and the sentences and prepare for the next step.
Step2 Presentation
1. Lead to the topic .Present the topic: Unit 5 At the market
Boys and girls, I will take you to a market today. And learn the words “five” and “market”.
PURPOSE:Lead to the topic.
2. Practice the number from 1to 6.
PURPOSE:Review the numbers from 1 to 6.
3. Present the new words. Teach the word “carrot” and “bean”.
There are all kinds of vegetable in this shop. Let's go to have a look. Let Ss look at the carrots in the shop, some Ss can read it, and then I teach the word “carrot”.

Read the word and sentence from low voice to high voice many times.
Let Ss read it one by one.
Teach the word “bean, tomato, potato” like teaching “carrot”.
PURPOSE:Learn the words and read them in different ways to increase their interest in learning English.
4. Do a chant
A carrot, a carrot, this is a carrot.
A bean, a bean, this is a bean.
T read them first, and then T and Ss read them together. All boys read it, and all girls read it.
PURPOSE:Ss can remember the words more strongly by practicing and consolidating the new words by reviewing the sentences they have learned.
5. I show a picture of carrots that have been processed to Ss, ask “What are these?” they maybe don't know how to answer, I will give them the answer “They are carrots.”
Read the sentences in whole class, group by group, one by one.
PURPOSE:Present the structures and practice them, thus Ss can ask some simple information.
Step3 Practice
Play a game: Practice the pattern and add the new knowledge: the answer “No.”
I prepare some fruits in a bag, then I can play it first: let a student covers my eyes, I choose one vegetable from the bag, and then I ask “Is this a …” Ss can answer “Yes” or “No”.
Then I let some students come to the Bb, they can play the game like me.
PURPOSE:Increase Ss' interest in English and bring their enthusiasm to the play.
And also this game can encourage Ss to try their best to thinking and speaking.
PURPOSE:To arouse the students’ interest of learning English.
Step4 Homework
1. Read the words of P23 five times.
2. Read the dialogue of P22 five times.
3. Listen to the tape three times.

教学后记:
    单词的发音掌握起来存在困难,通过联想记忆,如“一只小猫cat跑步run跑到小兔子rabbit家里送胡萝卜carrot”、“爸爸爬过山坡去挖土豆potato”,以学过的单词或相近的读音来引导学生学新单词,效果比较好。
