1.. There’s a new building. 有座新楼房。
There’s a/an+名词单数+表示地点的词或词组,意思是“在……有一(个)……”。如:
There is 后面也可以跟不可数名词。如:
There is some tea in the cup. 杯子里有些茶。
2. There are a lot of rooms in it. 里面有许多教室。
There are+可数名词复数+表示地点的词或词组,意思是“在……有……”。如:
There are many books in the bookcase. 书柜里有许多书。
alot of: 许多,在本句中可用lots of, many替换,其后面都可跟名词复数。如:
a lot of watches 许多手表;lots of cars 许多小汽车; many boys 许多男孩
3. — How many classrooms are there? 有多少教室? — There are twenty-four. 有24间。
how many意思是“多少”,后面跟可数名词的复数形式,用来询问数量,即how many+复数名词+are there+其他,意思是“(某地/某时)有多少……?”答句常用:There be(are, is) +数词表示。如:
— How many students are there in the classroom? 教室里有多少学生?
— There are five. 有5个。
— How many bikes are there near the house? 房子附近有多少自行车?
— There is one. 有一辆。
4. Are there any reading rooms in the building? 大楼里有阅览室吗?
Is there a table tennis room? 有乒乓室吗?
Are there……/Is there……是There are/There is……句型的疑问句形式,由此我们可知:There be句型的一般疑问句式是将be提到句首,首字母变成大写,句末改为问号。另外,需要注意的是,肯定句中的some要改为any。如:
There is a dog in the basket. → Is there a dog in the basket?
There are some orange on the table? → Are there any oranges on the table?
